
About Clinical Myotherapy
Clinical Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the assessment, treatment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries, conditions, diseases, aches and/or pains. Through the use of orthopaedic tests, palpation, postural assessment and questioning where we are able to determine the origin of your musculoskeletal issue and treat it accordingly with, but not limited to soft tissue manipulation, cupping, dry needling, joint mobilization, prescription exercises and stretches. From this physical examination we are able to determine a management plan tailored to your specific needs to achieve normal as possible functional movement reducing pain and aches as much as possible. After a treatment the practitioner may give you strengthening or stretching exercises to perform at home depending on ability and the specific needs you as a patient may need.
Myotherapy specializes in the deactivation of myofascial trigger points, which are hyperirritable nodules found within the muscles giving arise to referral pain patterns (pain located in a specific area, yet the origin is located somewhere else), pain on certain movements and/or actions, other associated symptoms and aches. These associated symptoms can range from tinnitus (ringing in the ears), visual disturbances, joint pain, nerve pain and headaches. These associated symptoms maybe the cause of contracted muscles which could be impacting on your daily activities, reducing focus at work and sporting activities.

About Daniel
Daniel studied a Bachelor of Health Science - Clinical Myotherapy at Southern Schools of Natural Therapies, Fitzroy, Victoria and graduated after four years of study in December 2013. Before graduating Daniel started working at Belgrave Chiropractic in August 2013 as a Remedial Massage Therapist and has since continued to practice from Belgrave Chiropractic in Tecoma. In June 2014 Daniel became a part of the team at Waverley Myotherapy Clinic, Mount Waverley. In early 2015 Daniel obtained his certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation from FIA. Daniel is registered with the Institute of Registered Myotherapists Australia.
Upon graduating Daniel has volunteered at the Oxfam Trail walk 2014, 2015 and Sherbrooke Suns Men's Championship 2014 team doing basic treatments and partaken in the BUPA Around the Bay 210km and Bass Coast Cycling Challenge 121km events raising money for different causes.
Daniel has an interest in cycling and basketball issues but can help with all sorts of sporting injuries, pains and aches however not limited to just sporting complaints.
